Welcome to my Blog. I am a very eclectic person and have a lot of interests in my life. This being my first blog post, it will be a get to know me blog post.
My name is Tamara Lynn Grgas, I like Tami, however, I answer to both (most days). I was born and raised in Canada. Born in Vancouver,BC and then from 13 years on in Sherwood Park, AB. At the age of 19 I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1).
They had just come out with glucose monitors at that time. They were 3 times bigger and took over 3 minutes to get results that were not always perfect. I also was one of the first people in Canada to use the semi-synthetic insulins that were new on the market.
I started doing hair in Canada, first apprenticing under a barber. I learned a lot from him and also got to assist some great stylists at hair shows, as my Boss also worked at a distributors with Wella. I then worked at Regis Hairstylists and earned a couple trips for hair color education, one to Chicago,IL and one to Anaheim, CA (got to go to Disney just before my 30th bday!). I worked at a couple other salons until I opened my own salon in my home in Canada. I loved it and was very busy doing hair and having fun with my customers.
I got married in 1990 to my highschool sweetheart. We had been dating and living together for 9 years at this time. That relationship fell apart in 2000. During that time, I also met a wonderful group of people in a chat room on MSN. One of those friends who helped me through the demise of that relationship is now my husband.
One of the most important moments in my life happened in 1999, I gave my life to Jesus Christ.
